JOURNEYS OF THE HART

​For nearly twenty years, people have gathered in Detroit’s Hart Plaza every Memorial Day weekend to celebrate its electronic music legacy as the birthplace of techno. Movement has evolved into one of the world’s premier electronic music festivals, boasting six stages, a lineup of 130 artists, and a daily attendance of over a hundred thousand music enthusiasts from around the globe. Our task was twofold: Phase One was to interview festival headliners and create long-form content that could be edited for various social channels. Phase Two was to capture this grand spectacle in its entirety. So, for three sleepless days and nights, two other directors, myself, twenty-something camera operators, and one hell of an executive producer shot live performances, interviewed festival-goers, and pretended hanging out with our music idols was no big deal.
