OPENING FOR A LEGEND
Two days later, I was chilling on the studio’s couch in Detroit, producing an electro-pop cover with my friends’ band FLASHCLASH. Five days later, my directing partner and I shot a music video and posted it for the contest. Over the next week, I ran a small social media campaign and used a vanity URL to push people to the voting page. The next thing I know, we are in Vegas at the Hard Rock, I am the band’s creative director, and they are opening for John Legend at a private event for Polk. Polk was impressed with everything we did to win the contest, which led to some consulting work and helping them plan their SXSW showcase. But the best part is that I haven’t bought new headphones in years.
